Terms of Service
Effective date:
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of One Current (the "App"), a macOS application provided by Vladyslav Pohorielov, an independent software developer ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, starting a trial of, or purchasing the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
These Terms work together with two related documents that form part of your agreement with us:
- the Terms of Use (the software license and acceptable-use rules), and
- the Refund Policy (how refunds work).
If there is a conflict between these documents on a specific point, the more specific document controls for that point (the Refund Policy on refunds, the Terms of Use on the license grant).
1. What One Current is
One Current is a native macOS productivity app that keeps a single current task visible on top of other windows to help you stay focused while doing it. The App runs locally on your Mac. It works offline and does not require an account or an internet connection to function.
We may, at our discretion, release future versions or companion products for other platforms (for example iOS or watchOS). Those may be offered as separate purchases and are not included in your macOS license unless we state otherwise.
2. Eligibility
You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your country of residence to purchase the App. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3. Free trial
We offer a 7-day, full-featured free trial. During the trial you have access to the App's functionality so that you can evaluate it before paying. The trial is time-limited, not feature-limited.
When the trial period ends, the App stops unlocking new use until you purchase a license. We may change the length or terms of the trial for future users, but a change will not shorten a trial already in progress on your device.
4. Purchase, license, and pricing
The App is sold as a one-time purchase that grants a perpetual license to use the version you bought, on the macOS platform, under the terms of the Terms of Use. There is no subscription and no recurring charge for the macOS App.
Pricing. The current price is shown at checkout and on our website. We may run time-limited promotional pricing (such as an early-bird price) and may change prices for future purchases at any time.
Prices are stated in US dollars and may be converted, with taxes added, at checkout depending on your location. A price change, or the end of a promotion, does not affect a license you have already bought — your purchase remains valid permanently, including version 1 and ordinary updates as described in Section 6.
5. Payments and Merchant of Record
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Paddle, acting as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. This means the payment provider is the seller of record for the transaction, handles billing, and is responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT.
Your purchase is therefore also subject to the payment provider's buyer terms. The payment provider may contact you about your order, and refunds and chargebacks are processed through them (see Section 7 and the Refund Policy).
We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
6. Updates
We may provide updates, bug fixes, and improvements to the App from time to time. Ordinary updates to the version you purchased are included at no additional cost.
A future major upgrade (for example a substantially reworked version 2) may be offered as a separate paid upgrade, typically at a discount for existing customers. We are not obligated to release any specific feature, update, or future version, and roadmaps are indicative, not promises.
7. Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on purchases. Because a full free trial is available before purchase, we still keep refunds simple and no-questions-asked within that window. The full terms, including how to request a refund, are in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Acceptable use and license restrictions
Your right to use the App is a license, not a sale of the software itself, and is subject to the restrictions in the Terms of Use (including no reverse engineering, redistribution, resale, or circumvention of the trial or licensing). Violating those restrictions terminates your license.
9. Your data and privacy
The App stores your tasks and settings locally on your device. We do not operate a server for your task data, and we do not collect, transmit, or have access to the content of your tasks. You are responsible for backing up your own data (for example via your normal Mac backups).
Personal data connected to the website, waitlist, purchase, and support (such as your email) is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every macOS version, configuration, or third-party software.
One Current is a focus and productivity tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice or treatment, including for ADHD or any other condition.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or productivity, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you actually paid for the App in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Termination
Your license continues until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach these Terms or the Terms of Use. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. On termination you must stop using the App; sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 10, 11, and 14) survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date and post the revised Terms on our website. Changes apply to purchases and use after the revised Terms take effect. They do not retroactively reduce the license rights of a purchase you have already made.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country of residence grants you stronger rights. Note that for the payment transaction itself, the Merchant of Record's own terms and jurisdiction may also apply.
15. General
These Terms, together with the Terms of Use, Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App, and replace any prior understandings on that subject.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision, and does not waive our ability to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your license without our consent. We may assign these Terms, for example as part of a transfer of the App or our business, on notice to you.
